Badminton Pan America

From an early age, I have been actively involved in sports. Volleyball and soccer became my passion at the age of 11, and I competed in school and regional amateur competitions. As a child with separated parents, these sports kept me engaged while my mother was at work.

My Journey with Badminton

In 2004, during my college days, I had the opportunity to attend badminton sessions conducted by a professor. I joined as an intern and started immersing myself in the sport by watching videos and connecting with players from different states. By 2008, badminton had become my primary focus. I began to understand the culture surrounding the sport and recognized its potential as a tool for personal and social development.

Partnering with a club in Juiz de Fora, I established my own badminton school in 2008. We started training and participating in competitions. In 2013, I completed the technical certification course conducted by the Brazilian Badminton Federation. Additionally, I initiated a social project in Linhares, my hometown, where we established the Badminton Sports Federation of Minas Gerais. At that point, I transitioned from a coach to the manager of the federation. In 2020, I became a Shuttle Time Tutor after completing my coaching levels.

The Influence of Experienced Coaches

Participating in state and national competitions allowed me to interact with experienced coaches who played a critical role in my development. The training courses also provided me exposure to international coaches. Notably, working at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 was a unique experience. I had the opportunity to connect with athletes from various countries, further expanding my knowledge and expertise. Currently, I am one of the coaches participating in the High Performance Sports Course held by the Brazilian Olympic Committee through the Brazilian Association of Coaches. This course allows me to learn from renowned coaches and scholars in the field, as well as other badminton coaches in Brazil.
