BWF News: Promoting Integrity in Badminton

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) recently introduced a group of five exceptional players as the first Integrity Ambassadors. These individuals, including Denmark’s Christinna Pedersen and Viktor Axelsen, India’s Saina Nehwal, and Japan’s Women’s Doubles pair Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi, will play a crucial role in promoting fair play, clean sport, and honorable conduct within the badminton community.

The Integrity Ambassadors program, known as “i am badminton,” was launched last season and aims to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and integrity in badminton. The ambassadors, who will be joined by more players in the future, have been selected as role models for the sport. They will represent and champion the campaign’s values, both on and off the court.

Gustavo Salazar Delgado, BWF Deputy President, unveiled the Integrity Ambassadors during a ceremony at the Dubai World Superseries Finals. Speaking about the program, he expressed his pleasure in welcoming these five athletes as the first BWF Integrity Ambassadors. According to Delgado, these players exemplify the integrity of badminton through their passion, clean play, and fair competition.

The Integrity Ambassadors will actively promote the importance of integrity to their peers and engage in various promotional activities with the BWF. They will serve as the faces of the campaign, inspiring others through their conduct and upholding the principles of sportsmanship.
