As a final reminder, the deadline for proposals and nominations for the AGM 2024 is midnight KL time on Friday, January 5, 2024. Kindly refer to our Notice of October 31, 2023 (linked here).

To submit proposals and nominations, members should email Thomas Lund, Secretary General ([email protected]). Please remember to copy Patricia Wong ([email protected]).

According to Clause 15.12, any proposal falling under the competent business of the AGM should be submitted in writing by a Member in Good Standing. The proposal must be endorsed by the appropriate Continental Confederation or seconded by two other Members in Good Standing. Send the notice of the proposal and its endorsement(s) directly to the Secretary General of the Federation at the Federation’s official address. They should reach the Federation no later than the date published in accordance with Clause 15.1.
Election to Fill Casual Vacancy
Another reminder is that there will be an election at the AGM 2024 to fill a casual vacancy on the BWF Council (see our Notice of September 1, 2023 – linked here).
To meet the Geographical and Gender Representation Requirements of Clauses 2 and 3 of Appendix I of the Constitution (linked here), only women from Europe can be nominated for election since former Council member Emma Mason was a European woman on the Council.
Any Member in Good Standing can nominate or second nominations for elections. Please refer to our Notice of December 20 (linked here) for details about the nomination form and process. This now includes the Vetting Declaration Form (Form C).
Subscription 2024

Please be reminded that the deadline to pay the subscription fee for 2024 is midnight on Sunday, January 31, 2024.
It’s important to note that players cannot be entered into competitions after January 31, 2024, if the subscription fee is not paid by the deadline.
According to Clause 26.6 of the BWF constitution, “In no circumstances can a Member’s player(s) or a team continue to compete beyond the due date for payment of the subscription, nor can that Member stage a Federation sanctioned tournament.”
